Dr. Azy Barak is a prolific writer and presenter who has authored numerous articles and studies on psychological applications on the Internet, the psychological effects of the Internet, the counseling process and outcome and more. Currently, he teaches courses in research issues in counseling, counseling applications on the Internet, the psychology of the Internet and counseling skills development at the University of Haifa.

Dr. Barak also currently serves as Special Issue Co-Editor for The Internet and Sexuality -- CyberPsychology & Behavior. He has served as an editorial board member for Counselor Education & Supervision and the Canadian Journal of Counseling. He is an ad hoc reviewer for several journals, including Psychological Methods, European Journal of Social Psychology, Sex Roles, Computers in Human Behavior, International Journal of Psychology, CyberPsychology & Behavior, Psychological Reports, Megamot and more. He is also an Ad hoc reviewer for research funding agencies, including National Science Foundation, United States-Israel Binational Science Foundation, and Israel Science Foundation.

An Executive Board member of the International Society for Mental Health Online (ISMHO), Barak received his education Counseling Psychology form Ohio State University in 1976.
