Linda Houghton is a foremost leading expert in emotional growth education programs in the United States. She founded two of the most prominent programs and provides consultation and training to private and public schools and programs across the United States.

As an education professional who has staunchly supported face-to-face evaluations of young people, I was initially suspect of what I assumed would be the limitations of this kind of computer generated report.

As I learned more about the purpose of this service I began to understand its importance. Through my own studied evaluation of the system, I became excited by the depth and clarity of the individual behavioral evaluations.  The screening and resulting reports will create a new way for parents to better understand their child’s needs and encourage them to seek help in considering intervention options.  This service will give professionals a valuable tool as they begin their work in recommending, planning and implementing an effective next step.

The online interview is extremely comprehensive and the level of information that can be gained via this system is a quality first step for parents in crisis.  The resulting reports will provide time saving information for the next step in the process. By using this system parents will receive information  from the perspective of multiple disciplines including medicine, mental health and educational.  Parents can go over their report with educators, consultants, physicians, psychiatrists, and psychologists.  With a completed behavioral report, many initial clerical questions have already been answered, leaving the professional free to gain more significant information and to make a more caring connection.

The Behavioral Evaluation and Report is much like the child development interview format I created to determine if a student was suited for an emotional growth curriculum.  InCrisis reports are more comprehensive and have more detail.  The level of detail contained in each report would take many hours by phone or in a person-to-person interview. Information, reports and guidance that might take months can be obtained immediately.

It is my recommendation that parents and professionals using the InCrisis Website, carefully review the reports and extensive information provided.  Many qualified and dedicated professionals have been instrumental in its development and the resulting service offered is a ground-breaking approach in the field of education and health care.

After reviewing completed reports and carefully considering all the applications of this system, it is my hope that it will not only be used as offered but expanded to provide even greater service to both parents and professionals.  This service, supported by leading behavioral science and computer technology, opens a new world of resources and options for parents.
